Our first Los Angeles gala was an incredible night! We shared an inspiring evening looking back on our 20 years of impact and listening to our community’s dreams for the future. We honored Deborah & Brandon Shainfeld with the Spirit of Ubuntu Award for their deep commitment to our mission. We presented Latham & Watkins the Pathways Partner Award for their long-term support of Ubuntu and their impact on the children of South Africa. We partied with Mr. Chris Norton, danced to special music from LIVVIA, and heard a moving story from Nozi of her journey as a child growing up in South Africa.
Together, we launched of the next phase of our campus expansion where step by step, pathway by pathway, Ubuntu is changing the narrative of children born in the townships of Port Elizabeth. Thank you to our amazing host committee, gala chairs, and sponsors for making this first gala in LA an unforgettable night of dreams come true!
Deborah and Brandon's deep commitment to Ubuntu Pathways has epitomized the philosophy of ubuntu–I am because you are. At our 20th Anniversary Gala in Los Angeles, we are proud to honor their impact on the organization and the children of South Africa.
